Intelligent RBG control

Energy-optimized control for storage and retrieval machines through dynamic power adjustment

Increased energy consumption due to permanently higher use of technology is becoming a major challenge in logistics. With Smart Crane Control, the IGZ Best Practice for Siemens TIA and SAP EWM, intelligent system control is implemented in order to conserve mechanical resources. The dynamic power adjustment in the PLC control system permanently optimizes travel paths and accelerations. This enables you to achieve energy savings of up to 40% for your storage and retrieval machines.

Smart Crane Control With Smart Crane Control, stacker cranes are operated gently and efficiently, and you receive a complete control package tailored to SAP EWM based on the latest SIEMENS TIA technology. Smart Crane Control ensures, among other things, that the shortest positioning time and precise approach to the x, y and z positions is guaranteed, depending on the route. The curve speed is optimally selected according to physical variables such as speed, acceleration and acceleration change. This results in smooth travel of the storage and retrieval machine. The intelligent control of the travel axes and optimization of the kinematic travel parameters also reduce current peaks.

Further savings in energy consumption are achieved through DC link coupling. The main axes of a storage and retrieval machine are electrically connected in the DC link. In this way, the permanently surplus power generated by the braking behavior of a drive can be fed back.
